About this position:

The Custodian 2 on the Opelousas Campus is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and custodial upkeep of all spaces as assigned by Facilities Department management. Predictable and reliable attendance is required in order to provide consistency and continuity of business services.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Six months of experience in custodial, housekeeping, groundskeeping, or food service work.

To perform manual tasks in order to maintain the cleanliness, sanitary conditions, and appearance of state buildings, facilities, institutions, etc.

Experienced.

General from a Custodian Supervisor A. Other reporting relationships may be approved by SCS.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

None.

LOCATION OF WORK:

All state agencies.

JOB DISTINCTIONS:

Differs from Custodian 1 by the presence of experienced-level custodial tasks.

Differs from Custodian 3 by the absence of advanced-level custodial tasks.

Examples of Work

70%

  • Clean and sanitize restroom and bathroom areas using established practices and procedure.

  • Ensure all floors are swept, vacuumed, mopped, and maintained in accordance with Master Cleaning Schedule and as assigned.

  • Refill all restroom dispensers to ensure adequate supply of paper products as assigned.

  • Performs specialized floor maintenance and upkeep utilizing established protocols and industrial grade machinery.

  • Acts as the primary point of contact for the notification of janitorial supply inventory needs.

20%

  • Complete all monthly, quarterly, and annual deep cleaning tasks identified in the Master Cleaning Schedule and as assigned.

10%

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
